The major part of the Surah emphasizes that man cannot be a true servant of God unless he believes in all that was revealed to the messengers of God without making any difference between revelations, or between messengers; accordingly, it admonishes and condemns the disbelievers, the hypocrites. It is this reality which is described in the first of the last two verses. God opens this chapter by describing the qualities that are essential for a God-fearing people, and without which they cannot discharge their duties towards their Lord. Thereafter the Chapter ordains various important laws, the change of direction of Qibla, regulations of Hajj, inheritance, fasting, and so on.
