The author, Jarullah al Zamakhshari was a late 5th, early 6th century sunni scholar who authored many works His magnum opus was the exegesis of the Qur'an titled 'al Kashshaf an Haqa'iq al Tanzil.

This book is an abridged translation of his work,-Rabi al Abrar wa Nusus al Alkhyar, which he compiled after his magnum opus with the aim of "giving response to weary minds" after they had studied his difficult exegesis.
